Raymond Yakeleya is an award winning Dene television
Producer, Director and Writer. Raymond is originally from Tulita
(formally Fort Norman) in the central Northwest Territories. For
the last 18 years, he's called Edmonton his home.
Raymond has over 30 years in the television industry.
The documentary films he has made with Bill have been selected
for showing at festivals around the world including the John
Grierson Film Festival, the Robert
Faherty Festival and
the Margaret Mead Film Festival, as well as the Museum
of the American Indian in New York and the British
Museum of Mankind in London.
He has won national and international awards for his work.
Raymond received his photography and advanced television production
at the Banff School of Fine Arts and attended the University
of Southern California summer cinema program in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
In 1979, Raymond and Bill produced, for CBC, their
first award winning documentary together titled We
Remember and
in 1981 produced and directed The Last
Mooseskin Boat, also
an award winner, for the National Film Board. Since 1998, Raymond
and Bill have produced four national television series and are
currently in production of their fifth.
Raymond has always believed that Canada’s Native people
need to have a voice in mainstream media in order to tell our People’s
stories, our way. With the passing of many of our Elders, the telling
of these stories has become more important.

bill stewart
Bill Stewart is a Producer, Writer,
and Director based in Edmonton.
He has over 35 years experience in the film and television industry.
The documentary films he has made have been selected
for showing at festivals around the world, including the John
Grierson Film Festival, the Robert Flaherty
Festival and the Margaret Mead
Film Festival, as well as the Museum of
the American Indian in
New York and the British Museum of Mankind in London.
As Film and Video Producer for the
Government of the Northwest Territories he produced, wrote and
directed over a hundred film and video productions, winning national
and international awards including two Gabriel
Awards, a Red Ribbon at the American
Film and Video Festival and a Gemini
Award. Bill
spent eight years as Senior Film and Video Consultant for Alberta
Culture, developing programs of support for film and video makers
through the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. He was one of the
creators of the groundbreaking Canada/Alberta Cultural Industries
Agreement.
Bill holds the degree of Master of the Arts from the School of
Film and Television, Royal College of Art, London, U.K.
Bill and Raymond made their first documentary together , We
Remember,
for CBC in 1979 and went on to make The Last Mooseskin
Boat with
NFB in 1981. They have been working together in Earth
Magic Media since
1999.

Carol Chapelski is Earth Magic
Media's Production Coordinator. Carol
joined Earth Magic Media in 2004 and has over 12 years of experience
in the television industry. Carol has worked across Canada in Edmonton,
Calgary, Toronto and Sparwood, BC, working in the oil and gas and
construction industry. She is highly skilled in project management,
research, copyright, marketing, accounting and human resources.
